Terms of Service
Effective: May 2026 · Governing law: Republic of India
Crisp exists for one purpose — For Students- The Future.
1Who Uses Crisp
Crisp serves three types of users. By creating or using an account, you agree to these terms in the role applicable to you.
Schools & Admins
Manage classes, approve teachers, and access exam data. Admins are responsible for appropriate use within their institution.
Teachers
Create tests and questions for enrolled classes. Paid plan unlocks advanced question types.
Students
Take exams assigned by teachers. Accounts are typically created under school enrollment.
2Account Eligibility
- •Students under 13 may only use Crisp under supervision of a school or guardian.
- •Teacher accounts require institutional affiliation. We reserve the right to verify and revoke access.
- •One person, one account. Sharing credentials is not permitted.
Class Auto-Advancement & Manual Change Policy
Student classes advance automatically at the start of each academic year. Manual changes are not permitted — this ensures students only access content and tests appropriate to their actual grade.
- •No self-service class changes are permitted at any time.
- •Teachers and school admins cannot change a student's class.
- •A class-change request (with proof) is considered only in exceptional cases: a student failed exams and needs to stay in the same class, switched to homeschooling, or experienced another unforeseen change in their schooling path.
- •The platform admin reviews all such requests. Final decision rests solely with the platform.
- •All uploaded proof documents are permanently deleted from our servers once the request is resolved — whether approved or rejected.
3Code of Conduct
All users must act with integrity. The following are strictly prohibited:
✗Impersonating another user, teacher, or institution
✗Sharing exam questions or answers outside the platform during or after an exam
✗Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with exams
✗Attempting to access another user's account or exam data
✗Any form of cheating, including copying answers from external sources during an exam
Exam integrity is non-negotiable. Anti-cheat systems are active on every submission.
4Content Policy
Teachers and admins are responsible for the content they upload — questions, images, audio, and answer keys.
- •Content must be educational, age-appropriate, and lawful.
- •Do not upload copyrighted material without permission.
- •Do not upload content that is offensive, discriminatory, sexual, violent, or otherwise objectionable.
Objectionable Content — Zero Tolerance
If a teacher or admin uploads objectionable, harmful, or inappropriate content — including questions, images, or audio — we will:
- 1.Immediately suspend the account
- 2.Remove all associated content
- 3.Formally report the incident, with evidence, to the teacher's school authority
- 4.Preserve records for legal proceedings if required
Schools trust us with their students. We take that seriously.
5Exam Integrity
Every exam on Crisp includes the following integrity protections:
Tab switch tracking
Visible in teacher reports
Copy-paste blocking
Active during exam
AI answer analysis
Detects copied or gibberish text
Auto-submit on violation
Strict mode: 3 tab switches = auto-submit
Randomised question order
Different for each student
Anti-cheat scoring
Penalises keyword stuffing & copy-paste
Exam logs are retained and may be reviewed by teachers and school admins. Suspected cheating is flagged automatically.
6Intellectual Property
- •The Crisp platform, design, and codebase are our intellectual property.
- •Questions and content created by teachers remain theirs. By uploading, you grant Crisp a licence to display and process them on the platform.
- •Student responses are owned by students and stored solely for exam result purposes.
7Payments & Subscriptions
This section applies to school administrators and any user on a paid plan. We keep pricing transparent and billing simple.
Free access
Teacher accounts are free forever — core features including classes, tests, and analytics are included at no charge. Students receive a 30-day free trial with no card required.
School subscriptions
School plans are billed as agreed at the time of purchase (annual or as invoiced). Payment is processed securely via Razorpay. Your plan activates upon confirmed payment.
Refund policy
All payments are final. We do not offer refunds on subscription fees once a payment has been processed, whether the plan has been used in full or in part. This applies to all plan tiers.
If you believe a charge was made in error — for example, a duplicate payment or an incorrect amount — please write to us at support@thecrisp.in within 7 days of the charge. We will investigate promptly and resolve genuine errors.
Cancellation
You may cancel or downgrade your plan at any time. Access continues until the end of the current paid period — no partial refunds are issued for unused time. There is no automatic renewal unless explicitly agreed upon at the time of purchase.
Disputes & chargebacks
We ask that you contact us before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in immediate suspension of the associated account. We are happy to work with you directly to resolve any concerns.
8Limitation of Liability
Crisp is provided "as is." We strive for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for:
- •Exam results affected by connectivity issues on the student's side
- •Content uploaded by teachers that a school has not reviewed
- •Indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
9Changes & Governing Law
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be notified via email.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Pune, Maharashtra.
